Norway has a long and proud skiing tradition. There is still considerable potential for innovation and technological development, particularly where technology, research and practical experience from elite sport meet.

MonsterGlide AS is a Norwegian technology company developing new solutions for the ski industry. Over several years, the company has worked on an innovative concept with the ambition to challenge established approaches and contribute to a new generation of skis.

For Igloo Innovation, innovation means bringing together people, expertise and ideas that can create something new. Through our innovation environment, MonsterGlide has gained access to a broad network across skiing, technology, product development and elite sport.

Jarle Aambø, CEO of Igloo Innovation, has taken on the role of project manager, contributing extensive experience from elite sport, performance development and leading innovative projects.

Alpine skiing legend Kjetil André Aamodt is involved as a test pilot. His experience from international elite sport brings valuable observations and assessments to the development work. Together with technological expertise and international partners, this provides an interesting foundation for further development.

After several years of development, MonsterGlide has moved into practical testing of new concepts. The testing and development environment at SNØ in Lørenskog offers opportunities to combine technological development with practical skiing experience.

For Igloo Innovation, this is an important part of creating an environment where innovative ideas can be developed, tested and refined with relevant experts. The project also has international partners in technology and industrial innovation, and has received financial support from Innovation Norway.

Stereoskis has contributed skis for testing, providing access to ski manufacturing expertise and equipment for the development work.

Although development is still at an early stage, the ambitions are considerable. MonsterGlide aims to contribute technological innovations that could, over time, matter to both the Norwegian and international ski industry.

The specific technological solutions have not been made public, as intellectual property and further development are central to the project's current phase.
